181 Car Seats Recycled
Safe Kids Larimer County and the Colorado Children’s Automobile Safety Foundation partnered together this Valentine’s Day to recycle 181 car seats that were unsafe for children to use. We saw car seats that were manufactured in 1998! Car seats have an expiration date determined by the car seat manufacturer. In general, infant and convertible car seats have a 6 year life span and must be replaced. Some car seats were broken and some were on the recall list.
If your car seat has been put through the rigors of childhood, is expired, has been recalled, or is broken, please take them to the Colorado State Patrol office located at 3832 S. I-25 and stack them neatly behind the building. Not sure if your car seat is good to use? Call one of our permanent inspection stations for an appointment.
